How we “chews” the ingredients for our long-lasting dog treats
When we came up with the concept for Chewz, we had both pet owners and dogs in mind — sometimes, owners need a little break from their dog’s high energy and dogs, well, they need a tasty treat to keep them occupied. With this in mind, we knew we needed some long-lasting dog treats that dogs will absolutely love to chew on and to us, we knew the answer was rawhide, rabbit ears and lamb ears!
We wanted to create yummy, chewy treats for dogs that’ll also help boost their overall health — so here are the benefits of the ingredients we choose for our dehydrated dog treats!
- Rawhide — This meat is naturally very chewy but of course, not meant for humans! Rawhide is made to be long-lasting chews that break down into soft pieces over time, giving your dog lots of time to focus on chewing it down into tiny pieces. The added benefit: rawhide helps break off the plaque build up on your dog’s teeth, so they help your dog clean their own teeth. Bonus!
- Rabbit ears — Dried rabbit ears are extra chewy for your furry friend while also supporting their digestion, dental health and anxiety levels.
- Lamb ears — 100% lamb ears are a great source of protein for your dog, so they can chew to their heart’s content and feel even stronger after a tasty snack. - Softer treats for puppies — Sometimes puppies need a distraction, too. With this in mind, we’ve introduced soft chicken tenders for your puppy to chew on while you get on with other things.
